About Ricardo

Ricardo was born and raised in Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico, where they began their studies at Corpus Danza at the age of 12. In 2011, they participated in the tenth Children's and Youth Ballet Competition, where they were awarded a scholarship to study at Idyllwild Arts Academy in Idyllwild California, which specialises in dance. In 2015, they completed their studies

and was awarded, “The John and Lilian Outstanding Artist Award”.

In 2015, Ricardo Joined the Hamburg Ballet School and after graduating Ricardo signed a contract with the Bundesjugendballett under the artistic direction of Kevin Haigen, where they had the opportunity to work with great choreographers such as Marco Goecke, Natalia Horecna, Raymond Hilbert, Sasha Riva, Wubkje Kuindersma, Marijin Radenaker, Andrey Kaydanovskiy, Demis Volpi and under the legacy of John Neumeier. Ricardo was part of the Hamburg Ballett until July 2023, where they had performed numerous solo/principal roles and choreographed several original pieces such as “Elementos” and “Waiting for the Rain” for the Bundesjugendballett. Starting August 2023, Ricardo will be part of the Ballett Kiel as a soloist.

Ricardo advocates for marginalized communities and seeks to create environments where people who have felt they have no voice can be free and express what makes them happy through the arts and the passion to live authentically on a daily basis.

Management Studies

In 2019, Ricardo enrolled in a Mexican university to obtain their Bachelors degree in business management. In 2022, Ricardo successfully graduated with high honors and obtained a MAGNA CUM LAUDE. Ricardo is currently in Hamburg where they have created and used their management skills to provide platform and events for queer BIPOC individuals along side the House of Brownies. Ricardo continues to grow as an artist and as a person.
